This Privacy Policy explains what information Fuguro (“Fuguro”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the website and app at fuguro.app (the “Service”), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

要

The short version

  • We collect your account details, your learning progress, and the minimum technical data needed to run the Service securely.
  • We don't sell your data or show third-party ads on the Service. We do load Google Ads conversion tracking on every page so we can measure visits from our own ads.
  • We share data only with the providers that host the app, send our emails, block bots, and measure our ad campaigns, listed below by name.
  • You can view and edit your account, reset your progress, and ask us to delete your account entirely.
01

Who we are

Fuguro is a Japanese-learning application operated by a small independent team. For any privacy question or request, you can always reach us at contact@fuguro.app. We are the party responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

02

What we collect

We only collect what the Service needs to work for you:

  • Account information. Your email address, an optional display name, and a password. Your password is always stored in encrypted form, so we can never see, log, or recover the password you actually typed.
  • Learning data. The progress that makes the app useful: what you've studied, your review history and activity, and any personal notes you add.
  • Preferences. The in-app settings you choose, such as your study options and your light or dark theme.
  • Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you provide so we can reply.
  • Limited technical data. To verify your email, reset a password, prevent abuse, and rate-limit messaging, we process your IP address and short-lived verification codes. This is used for security and delivery, not for profiling or advertising.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of data, payment card numbers, or precise location, and we do not run third-party analytics trackers on the Service. With your consent, we do use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure visits and sign-ups from our own ad campaigns; this is described in the cookies and providers sections below.

03

How we use it

We use the information above to:

  • create and secure your account, and keep you signed in;
  • save and sync your learning progress, schedule reviews, and run the spaced-repetition system;
  • send essential account emails (email verification, password resets) and reply to messages you send us;
  • protect the Service against bots, spam, and abuse, and enforce reasonable rate limits;
  • diagnose problems, keep the Service reliable, and meet our legal obligations.

We rely on these legal bases, where applicable: performing our contract with you (running your account), our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and working), your consent (optional messages you choose to send), and compliance with law.

04

Cookies & local storage

We keep this minimal. After you log in we use a single essential sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. Your theme preference is stored locally on your device.

With your consent, we also use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure our own ad campaigns. This may set Google cookies and share your IP address, the page you're on, and basic device information with Google. Nothing runs until you accept our cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw consent at any time:

Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

05

Service providers

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the providers that operate parts of the Service on our behalf, under their own privacy and security commitments:

  • Hosting & storage. A cloud hosting and database provider stores and serves your account and learning data.
  • Email delivery. An email provider sends our account emails (verification, password reset) and delivers messages you send us through the contact form.
  • Bot & spam protection. A security provider runs a privacy-focused bot check on sign-up and the contact form, and receives basic interaction signals and your IP address to tell humans from bots.
  • Advertising measurement. With your consent, Google (Google Ads) receives limited technical data, such as your IP address and the page you're on, so we can measure visits and conversions from our own ad campaigns. We do not share your account or learning data with Google. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google Ads Settings for your choices.

These providers act as our processors and may only use the data to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.

06

How long we keep it

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account exists, so your progress is there when you come back. Short-lived security data, such as verification codes and rate-limit records, expires automatically after a short period. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems, except where we must retain limited information to comply with law or resolve disputes.

07

How we protect it

Passwords are always stored in encrypted form, and your connection to the Service is also encrypted so your data is protected while it travels. We keep you signed in with a secure session, and apply rate limits and a bot check on sensitive actions like sign-up and password resets. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity and to notify you if a breach materially affects you.

08

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. In practice:

  • You can view and update your name and account details from your account settings.
  • You can reset your learning progress from within the app at any time.
  • You can request a copy of your data, or full account deletion, by emailing contact@fuguro.app.

We'll respond to verified requests within a reasonable time. If you believe we've mishandled your data, you may also contact your local data protection authority.

09

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10

International data

Our providers may process and store data in countries other than yours. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on those providers' safeguards and appropriate transfer mechanisms to protect it consistently with this policy.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date at the top, and for material changes we'll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
